It has been my privilege to be the Lead Member for Enterprising Craven for the last six years, working with a team to ensure the economic viability of our District, whether it be investing in the infrastructure around the Station or developing the cultural and community centre and improving the museum. Work begins on the re-surfacing of the canal towpath from Gargrave to Skipton this summer, for which we have obtained £1.25m in funding. In all, in the last eight years we have attracted over £20m external funding for projects in Craven.
I have campaigned for residents of Gargrave and Malhamdale on many issues, from planning matters to maintaining free car parking in Gargrave, usually, but not always, with a degree of success.
I have represented you for the last eight years and I hope I am well aware of your concerns and the needs of our District as a whole. The Council needs to be pro-active in protecting residents and improving our quality of life. There is still work to be done.
